From Biergartenhaus 1355 H Street, NE
Euro 2012 starts this Friday. The fine folks from Marx Cafe at 3203 Mount Pleasant St, NW will be showing all the games on an HD projector in Mt. Pleasant. Biegartenhaus on H St, NE, and Lucky Bar (1221 Connecticut Ave, NW) are always fun spots but also always very crowded. For fans – where will you watch?

To be honest, I can’t stand soccer. Biergartenhause is a great place to watch sports, but you couldn’t pay me to eat there.
Thanks for chiming in!
Hey, just putting it out there. Not everybody loves soccer, Kevin.
Churreria Madrid in Adams Morgan. Go Spain!
When I was in 4th grade, I asked the captain of the soccer team if I could join the team (I guess because I was very short and thin). He laughed in my faced. No sports for me since then!
I shouldn’t say that. I became really good at table tennis at some point, it even saved my life once!.
Story!
The story is too long, but basically I was able to defend myself from an attack on the street on what I can only attribute to the reflexes I developed from playing table tennis every day for years!
Real life “wax on, wax off?” Or “Paint the fence?”
If it weren’t for PoP I would have no idea EURO 2012 starts Friday
Online is my preferred venue.
all games on espn, good food cheap drinks and ample seating, i think ill be watching a lot of the games at home
Duffy’s will have the Games on with Sound on Saturdays and Sundays with $3 Tall Boys of PBR During the games. The kitchen will not be open til 5pm however you are welcome to bring your own food during these times or order delivery from one of the many nearby spots. ~ Duffy’s
is the guy in that ad a young Zach Morris?
That’s Philipp Lahm, die Mannschaft captain, and he’s a fullback.
Wait… how did my reply get put down here? Ohh.. wait.. the post I replied to got deleted…. but now my response looks silly.
Oh well, this was in a response thread to Anonymous asking who is in the above german poster.
It’s Philipp Lahm. Goalie for the German National Team.
Defender, not a goalie.
Lahm plays goaltender occasionally. Take it from a big fan.
Oh man. I cant wait. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHebuF8tNEM
That link is priceless!!! My ankle hurts
Kitty O’Shea’s in Tenleytown for the weekday games. Great (albeit undersized) Soccer bar.
Lucky Bar still the best place to watch soccer as long as it doesn’t get packed.
yeah, except the food is completely inedible and they usually have a minimum.
USA! USA! USA!
Forget stupid Euro 2012 featuring a bunch of wannabe soccer nations, this weekend sees the USA in World Cup action (i.e. a real tournament not some made up feel good fest for a bunch of bankrupt countries).
This tournament actually features the winners of the last four World Cups and features a higher quality of play since many very good European sides can’t qualify for the World Cup in the UEFA group but could qualify in ASEAN or CONCACAF.
the pug.
To quote one of my favorite TV personas: “Soccer was invented by European ladies to keep them busy while their husbands did the cooking.” -Hank Hill
That is probably my all-time favorite King of the Hill quote.
Here is my favorite: “Bobby, I need to tell you something. One day I’m going to die. Then you can take cooking classes”
So true. Excited for Germany vs. Portugal…mostly for the eye candy.
I don’t know about you guys, but I am tired of this damned lawyer ball.
There’s nothing wrong with getting on base with a walk.
And there is nothing wrong with a game ending nil-nil and going to penalties.
Yes! i’ll be watching on ilemi or roja directa! rooting for italy because of balo!
Well crap. Here’s to two very unproductive weeks starting this Friday. (and I will watch at Lucky Bar or Churreria Madrid)
I don’t really want to say because I don’t want it to get crowded, but Fado is a great place to watch football. Their food is pretty good too.
I heard that the Greece v. Spain match was cancelled because neither country had a 1 Euro coin to flip.
where are all my Croatia supporters watching??
Ventnor’s in Adams Morgan will be Open For Lunch on Friday and showing the games with sound! Carlsberg on Special all month for the Euro Cup Games…..
Boundary Stone!
I think Redline in “Chinatown” has a bunch of TVs and good food. Beer selection is meh.
