Third District Commander Jacob Kishter
This is pretty awesome. 3D Commander Jacob Kishter sent an email to the 3D listserv:
“At 1200 PM, a robbery snatch occurred at 12th and Vermont Streets, Northwest. A nearby officer on patrol observed the robbery and gave chase on foot. The subject was apprehended a short distance later and the victim’s property was returned, she was unharmed.”
Chief Groomes replied to the message:
“I want to add that it was 3ds commander…jake kishter who apprehended this felon. Kudos to him and his team.”
Awesome!

Don't you have to wait in line just to put your name down, though?
Also, what if I...
I would also go to your councilmember (who is Jim Graham) and explain the situation. They...
So awful, praying that see and the baby are as okay as you can be after being shot
Get rid of this stupid reservation system. Why should a customer have to wait in line...
Love this! Big props!
I’ve had several interactions with Commander Kishter and he has always been extremely responsive and has always followed up personally to make sure the issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. He’s friendly and professional. Kudos not only for this but for his general service!
Thank you Commander Kishter!
Wonderful! I second the big thanks to Commander Kishter and all the other officers who protect our neighborhood!
Commander Kishter goes on patrol? That’s cool.
What night was this? A very similar situation happened to my date saturday night, fairly close by. I was meeting her at Dodge City at Vermont and U, and when I showed up, cop cars were down the block and the bouncer told me that someone’s phone was stolen as they were walking down the street, but nothing else. Twenty minutes later, my date (who I had never met in person) walked in and said that was her. It was a bit of an awkward start to things…
I wonder if its the same guy and he went south after? This happened to her at about 8 PM.
12pm would suggest that it happened around noon, not at night. Nevertheless, that’s awful what happened to your date. Glad she was unharmed.
Ah, yeah, I just emailed him and got a quick response that this was today, as well as a quick, positive update on what happened saturday.
Props x2!
Cool. Good job Commander Kishter!
Great news – thanks! And can we PLEASE know what happens as the suspect proceeds through the court system and gets (hopefully) some meaningful punishment?
Thats my son and he is awsome!
Go Commander! What a badass!
Good job, MPD! Now let’s count down the seconds until the DC court system lets us all down by letting this joker off the hook so he can rob again…
