Cafe Carvy to former Spice Indian Bistro Space Downtown

Cafe Carvy will be located in the former Spice Indian Bistro space (next to Rice Bar) at 1020 19th St, NW (just north of K St.) Sounds like it could be a good lunch option for those that work downtown.

Really hoping this isn’t a full-blown trend of all the vegetarian-friendly places around here closing…first Spice, then Maoz, and Java Green up for sale?

  Yeah, but Maoz was like the brick of the falafel world. I just felt gross after every time I ate there, like it was just weighing my stomach down.

  Juice Joint, on the other hand, is doubling in size. I can’t wait for them to re-open. I agree we need more healthy options, but Spice Express wasn’t healthy, just carb-heavy and full of saturated fats. I liked it, but couldn’t eat there often because of that.
