Let’s Build One City Together

With so many important issues facing our city, it’s critical that we come together to share our ideas. Please bring your ideas, your questions, and your enthusiasm for improving your community and our city. For more information, call 202-682-4729.

  • Well, I think it’s obvious what the main topic of discussion will be: youth gun violence.

  • What exactly is the purpose of this… just to share ideas?

Sounds kind of like an Exit Interview, only done because it appears like the right thing to do.

Changes rarely happen as a result.

  • He needs to not hold these town halls in churches. When these are hosted by churches the pews get packed with the church members and others get intimidated or shouted down.

    • How dare you suggest that Vince Gray is playing to the city’s divisions!

He’s just a lovable ol’ Grampa — who just happens to stoke up ignorant emotional responses in lieu of any ideas.

Have fun at your coronation … er… I mean “town hall meeting” Vince, I’ll be surfing Trulia for listings in Montgomery County that night.

      • hahahahahahaha.
did you also move to canada when bush was elected?

        • “Hyperbole here? Is there anyone out there?”

          • pointed hyperbole.
because i think someone is an idiot for leaving the city solely because gray will be mayor.
but you’re free to be you.
and i’m free to laugh at you.

it’s a great country like that.

    • Separation of church and District? Doesn’t sound right to me.

  • i have to agree with previous anonymous … why have these meetings in a church? don’t know if it is because i am not American but if i hold a meeting where i want to have everyone of a community attend then i hold it in a community center, a school for example.
if Grey would really want to get input from everyone (something i am still a bit skeptical about, then he should pick places that speak to all of us.
but it will be interesting to see how he packages his gentrification comments …

  • Becuase Feny neve had meetings in churches where he would pretend to listen, then cater buisness to the special interets that backed him (Fenty just skipped the meetings and wend to his backers).

  • Pump your breaks all the meetings are not in churches.

    Meeting Locations –
    School / Youth Center – Wards, 1, 2, 5, 6 & 7
    Church – Wards 3, 4 & 8

Maybe he selected central locations in each Ward that cam accommodate a crowd. Don’t complain here go to the meeting, be constructive & be heard.

“When these are hosted by churches the pews get packed with the church members and others get intimidated or shouted down.”
I thought all the DC congregations lived in MD…lol

  • Bring in the FBI to help with this ongoing youth violence nonsense, any day now, Mr. Gray, Ms. Bowser, Mr. Mendelson, et al., y’all need to get on it, it’s absurd how bad it’s gotten under your watch!

  • can i double park in front of the church for the town hall meeting? i feel like i’ve gotta be able to take advantage of that rule at least once.
