Does $1650 sound reasonable for this 1-Bedroom, w/ Den, 1½ Bath?

  • they give you a free month, so real rent is just over $1500, which sounds reasonable i guess

    • Who does their financial planning on the aggregate for the year? Most people I think budget on a monthly basis. Just because one month is free, doesn’t mean the next month they won’t have to pay the full amount.

      • Is this a sincere comment?

      • i tend to think he is sincere and he really is that dense.

if so, serious answer is A) this is not an impediment to anyone with any financial sense whatsoever, and B) this is just a sneaky way for the landlord to raise the cap on what the rent can be increased to when your lease is up. Most of the time i bet the landlord will let you pay the averaged monthly rent cost each month instead of literally having a “free” month.

i hope it was tongue in cheek, though.

  • Wow, I used to live in that building, in an apartment that looks very similar to the one in the picture. Mine was considered a two-bedroom (guessing the den in this place was a bedroom in mine) and didn’t have the half-bathroom, tho.

Nice building. Haven’t lived there since 2004 so I have no idea if it’s a good price. Neighborhood is much better now than then, tho.
