Tattoo of the Week

DSCN9764, originally uploaded by Prince of Petworth.

This week’s selection is for Father’s Day coming up. The owner is Luis Gomez who got it done at Paradise Tattoo on 18th Street in Adams Morgan. The tattoo is a portrait of his father who was a surgeon in the Colombian Army.

Ed. Note: I’m embarrassed to admit that when I saw it first out of the corner of my eye I thought it was of Nehru. But this is very cool too…

  • Also a remarkable resemblance to WWII-era jugoslav partisan Tito.

  • isn’t it “Colombian”?

  • [email protected]:52 – yes it is! Thanks. This is one of my pet peeves…

  • Yes, it’s Colombian as in the country Colombia, unless we’re talking about Columbia, MD. Gosh, I wanted to post something in the morning but I thought people would get all pissy with me and criticize my focus on spelling.

  • PoP, if you’re looking to knock out a year’s worth of tattoos of the week in one day, go to the drum circle at Meridian Hill park. Not having any ink of my own, I was definitely in the minority there. But I saw some nice ones.
