Check out the look of terror in the eyes of the fish.

I love this one located on S Street just east of 14th Street. It’s not clear if the restaurant is getting renovated and will remain with the same owner or if it will be an entirely new business. (This is the building located right next to the Garden District.)

I’m sorry I’ve been caught on the road this week for a last minute work trip. Don’t feel too bad, I was in Vegas. Anyway, the phenomenal picture above was found on Euclid between 13th and 14th by Nikki.
Another photo after the jump. (more…)

Ugh, this sign on the 800 block of Upshur kills me every time I see it. We spoke about it back in June. I thought you’d be eager to know that they’re looking to higher hire a pizza man and fry cook.

I should be more hopeful because I suppose it’s possible that the pizza will be good. I come from the NY point of view which holds that the more pizza places there are the better. And God knows there are some great pizza spots in NYC with horrible signage. I’ll gladly take that trade. So I’m gonna pray that this place is good and I’ll give them mad props if the pizza is quality, hell I’ll give them mad props if the “things” are good…

I’m familiar with free toasters and televisions but hotdogs?

I’m gonna miss the U Street farmers markets during winter…

I can’t stand when I see these ads by Chevron or other big oil companies that tout how environmentally friendly they really are. Allow me to call bullshit on this! Please. It’s like the tobacco companies saying they support cancer research…

This sign is from the gas station located at 14th and W. I don’t know about you but the only food I’m buying at a gas station is a bag of chips and maybe a slim jim…
Is it just me or does it seem really wrong to buy fried chicken or Chinese food at a gas station?

Check out the sign in the top left corner. A reader took this photo above Busboys & Poets on 14th and V Streets. I suspect “Andy” may be a liar of some sorts. Any guesses here? Could it be a bad break up? I believe the owner of Busboys & Poets is named Andy – perhaps there is a bit of a fight going on between some of the folks living above Busboys & Poets and the establishment.
Anyway props to the reader for the good eye.
