Not leaving us many options, yeah?

“Near the northwest corner of 13th and Irving NW, there’s an air pump coming out of a rowhouse with a sign reading “Free Air for Bicycles”. Thought it was a cool neighborhood find if you haven’t already covered it.
The house is on 13th, next to the church that is located there for sale.”
Very cool. For those that missed it previously, here’s the church for sale.

Just messing with us…

I’ve featured their great window before but never realized that the sign is pretty sweet as well. I’ve rarely seen a sign with rows of light bulbs around it like this one has. I’m not sure if you can read it in the photo but on the small red circle on the bottom left hand corner it says “Dot’s Home Cooking”. Sweet sign.

At first glance this sign may look rather ordinary. But I’ve noticed that there are many take out Chinese places like this named “Danny’s”. So I’m wondering if “Dandy’s” was a typo. Either way it’s real dandy…

Thanks to a reader for a heads up on this one:
“I think you might have featured this particular sign before, but a raze permit has been applied for for the building, so I thought you might want to re-feature the Georgetown Silversmith & Plating sign on the building at 2335 Champlain St., NW in Adams Morgan (across the street from the alley entrance to the parking garage under the Lofts). They are razing this cool old building (just the small one) to build what will surely be dubbed “luxury” apartments.”

Remember this brutal fire back in August? It’s great it’s getting repaired so quickly, I was fearful that it may be a shell for a while. You can see some amazing photos from an eyewitness of the fire here.

Car repairs? How would one get a car into the park in the first place?

At first glance it’s not the greatest sign. But if you take a closer look you’ll see that “Wing King” is trademarked. Fantastic! Hmm, I don’t think I’ve ever asked where are the best wings in town?

This has to be the greatest name for a Deli. It’s brilliant.
