I heard this evening that the great bar and brunch place Tunnicliff’s Tavern in Eastern Market is opening up a new store on U Street between 13th and 14th.
I also heard that Velvet Lounge may be sold to the owners of Local 16 and Eighteenth Street Lounge. Wild news.
Anyone else heard these rumors?
Brings us a bit further east on Upshur. You can see this storefront is next to Duke’s Seafood. I think this may be the bakery that we have heard so much about. Care to speculate? While we are at it, anyone try Duke’s Seafood?
Welcome to another new feature here at the PoP. I’m going to feature photos of a number of new stores/businesses that are coming to the neighborhood and we are going to speculate as to what type of business is coming. Volume one features a storefront on Georgia Ave, a few stores down from Temperance Hall. The windows and doors seem to be brand new and I am encouraged by the brown paper covering the windows, which usually signals construction inside, as opposed to just being plain old boarded up. So does anyone know what is coming? Care to speculate?
