Just walked by and the Maman Joon signage in Columbia Heights is gone already – please tell me they haven’t reconsidered?!!?”

They have not, thank the Gods. There was simply a defect with the sign installation (was collecting water) and it’s getting fixed. Stay tuned for an opening date!

“The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum will serve as a major source of information, educational activities and experiences on and around the total solar eclipse taking place April 8. The next total solar eclipse will not be visible in the contiguous United States for over 20 years.

The museum will hand out eclipse glasses to the public in advance of the eclipse, host eclipse-viewing opportunities and other events in the lead-up to the eclipse and provide eclipse-related resources for educators and parents/caregivers across the country.

“Dear PoPville,

I (late 20s woman) was walking down Q St NW in Georgetown (Monday), minding my own business, when a guy parked on the side of the street called out to me asking if I could come over. I turned around and saw that it was a guy in his mid-20s in a dark gray Jeep (Maryland tags), and he wasn’t wearing a shirt. (more…)
