El Tamarindo finally got their outdoor seating at 1785 Florida Ave, NW.

When I first wrote about them applying some thought they’d get denied or it’s just a poor place for outdoor seating. Do you still think this will not be a pleasant space to eat outside?

And it got me thinking about Churchkey/Birch & Barley’s outdoor seating at 1337 14th St, NW. Do you think this is a pleasant space to eat outside?

El Tamarindo is located at 1785 Florida Ave, NW. I know winter is coming up but I think if this section of Florida Ave. get some outdoor seating it will really improve the overall feel of the block. They are only applying for a spot to seat 14 people. Looking forward to it!

I had seen that they applied for a permit a couple of weeks ago and was happy to see it went through so quickly. I’d say it improves the feel of this section of 14th Street 100%. I’m really glad this trend is catching on.

Didn’t Red Rocks used to have regular tables in the outdoor area? I wonder if they were influenced by Wonderland. What do you think, do you prefer picnic tables to proper tables? I can appreciate picnic tables but I think when I’m out to eat a meal I prefer to have a back on my chair. What about you guys?

The great chicken place Chix located at 2019 11th Street, NW is also applying for outdoor seating. It has an awesome space that is definitely going to enhance the atmosphere of 11th Street. The hearing will be the second week of July so we may have to wait until August before we get to enjoy it but it is still great news. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should definitely stop by. They now have a new lunch special which sounds pretty good. From 11:30 – 4pm M-F you can get 1/4 chicken 1 side (noodles&cheese, side salad, or sweet potatoes) and 1 soda/bottled water for $7.49. Or you can get 1/4 chicken 1 side (noodles&cheeseor sweet potatoes), 1 small green salad and 1 soda/bottled water for $7.99.

As noted by a commenter last week, Beveragemania has joined the revival of Upshur St. with some outdoor seating and flower boxes. But obviously what truly enhances the outdoor seating is the dope sky beach style umbrellas. I can practically hear the waves crashing. Can we also note that the store’s name is arguably the greatest in the city?

I’ve always been a huge fan of the beer garden at Wonderland and still am. But get there late on a beautiful day and it is smashed crowded. So I was psyched to see that they have opened up more outdoor seating options with individual tables. The perfect spot for Happy Hour drinking and eating but mostly drinking. Has anyone sat at the new outdoor space? Like it?
