“U.S. Army Military District of Washington will be participating in the U.S. Army 250th Birthday Festival and Parade, Saturday, June 14.

Due to the incoming military aircraft to support operations, you will notice an increase in noise from June 10-15. The celebration will include several aerial performances from aircraft such as, the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache and the CH-47 Chinook.

DC Fire and EMS reported: “One Alarm Fire Lincoln Memorial Circle NW. Fire involving small concession kiosk outside. Propane tank involved.”

Lucy sends at 8am: “Was out for a run this AM when I saw the hut had gone up in flames.”

“Update kiosk fire Lincoln Memorial Circle NW. Continue to wet down kiosk. Propane tanks have been secured. The victim has been flown to an area trauma center with serious non life threatening injuries. Media staging is at French Dr. and Lincoln Memorial Circle.”

“Victim is an adult male.

Update kiosk fire Lincoln Memorial Circle. Continue to overhaul the kiosk. Investigators on scene to determine cause.”

14th St and Jefferson Drive, NW

“Dear PoPville,

I am sending this hoping that someone/anyone can do something at the corner of 14th St and Jefferson Dr. NW. There are food trucks that have been blocking the crosswalks and eliminating visibility for EVERYONE for more than a year and our authorities have given up and decided to let the trucks run wild. Not sure if it was the NPS or DC gov that installed horrible fences last year hoping the trucks would no longer park there because of the visibility problems. The trucks do not care and just moved and now block the sidewalks eliminating all visibility. (more…)
