“Dear PoPville,

I had a missed connection at the Caps/Pens game tonight (Thursday) that I’d love to find.

We were at Rocket Bar before the game started (around 7pm) and a man who introduced himself as “Chase” wearing a Caps jersey and a backwards hat came up to my friend and I, but then had to leave to go to the game. I was so flustered that I didn’t give him my name or ask for his number. We tried to call his name at the game but were not able to locate him. Hard to find one person among 20k fans. This is me shooting my shot, which I should have done at the time.”

“Dear PoPville,

It’s raining men! It’s actually not, which is why I was particularly excited to notice one today (Wednesday, 1/25) who held my attention. During the early afternoon rain shower, I was walking up 12th Street towards downtown. Near Department of Justice, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

The other day I was at the Bouldering Project wearing a shirt from the French popstar Yelle. Another woman at the gym saw it and excitedly told me she also loved Yelle! We had a short convo about French music. Fast forward to today and I just found out that Yelle is playing at 9:30 club on February 25th. Maybe she wants to go to the concert together? (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Over MLK Weekend, I was sitting in the atrium of the National Portrait Gallery and met a curly, dark-haired woman and we chatted for a minute or two. The polite and curious child with you, L., told me all about the Evel Knievel motorcycle at the Air and Space museum after seeing a sticker on my laptop. You needlessly apologized for him and quipped about how people in Pittsburgh are nicer than in DC (ha!). After NPG, you were heading to the MLK Public Library. If you see this, would you like to stroll through a museum or gallery with me?”

“Dear PoPville,

My dog and I went to Kingman Island on MLK day. As we were leaving around 3 pm, a cute photographer (baseball cap, reddish hair, dimples) was eagerly scanning the sky over the island. I asked what we were watching and he said a bald eagle had been circling. (more…)
