“Dear Popville,

Here goes! I was unlocking my bike at the rack outside of the Natural History Museum (5/31) when you walked up talking to someone on your airpods. I just minded my own and went about my business, as one does in the city, and you ended your conversation and assured me you were not talking to yourself.

I thought that was amusing so lingered to talk about the lovely biking weather. (Amazing repertoire, no?) You said you were meeting your sister and nephew and we talked about the seat you had MacGyvered for him on the back of your bike. Maybe you’re just chatty…? But I definitely was disappointed when the tour bus driver ambled over to chat it up with us.

You were wearing who knows what and I *think* you had sandy colored hair. I am a terrible eyewitness apparently. But you’re taller and lean and very cute. I am far from lean and do at least remember what I was wearing: olive green v-neck tshirt and leggings with my neon shirt around my waist. I have long blondish brown hair and was unfortunately not looking that cute because hadn’t put on makeup that day. I could have been wearing a olive baseball hat w/tiedye VW bus on it when you walked up but was transitioning to bike helmet so not sure. My bike is adorable: purple beach cruiser type with fenders and rack and covered with stickers. (And yes, I am an adult.) I wanted to tell you my uncle and cousin were in town and I was playing guide and otherwise keep talking to share information with you, a complete stranger, and totally wished I didn’t peace out of the conversation so quickly but the vibe was just different when it involved bus driver dude. (I am actually an old adult, why am I writing like I am two generations younger?)

Anyway, have been thinking you seemed like a fun guy, who is obviously cool given your choice of mode of transport, and at the very least would be a nice conversationalist to make being single in DC less lonely. Worth a shot! So, here’s to the interwebs working its magic!
