“Dear PoPville,

I was at the 28 July Passion Pit show at the 9:30 Club, and as I was walking out we made eye contact – I smiled, you waved. You (30s?M, around 6’0”) were wearing a white (linen or cotton?) short sleeve button down with blue embroidery, New Balance sneakers, and octagonal wire glasses. I (31F) had on a pink mini skirt, black shirt, and tortoise shell glasses.

Earlier in the evening (around 6:30pm) it was pouring down rain at U St metro and a bunch of us were waiting in the station for it to let up. You struck up a conversation with (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was at Kuro Listening Bar on Georgia Avenue on Friday, July 24. I, a man who looks like 1990s John Leguizamo, was solo enjoying the music and cocktails. You, a petite woman with layered dark hair and a lime green top and black pants were with a friend.

This is a listening bar, but for us it was more of a looking bar as we kept exchanging glances for hours. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was on the Red Line (Tuesday, June 9, 2026. I boarded at Van Ness ~9:20 am, heading toward Glenmont). I sat down, and facing me on the other side of the train was a guy: curly brown hair, a little stubble, wired headphones in, light hoodie/tee, navy pants with white flecks, white sneakers, clutching a big black backpack, with a duffle bag by his feet. We made flirty eyes/smiles at each other until we both deboarded at Metro Center. Looked back to see if he was still around, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I, a late 20s guy in a jean jacket, was waiting in line for a first floor bathroom stall at Wonderland Ballroom on Wednesday, July 22. You and a friend were ahead of me in line. You look like a dark eyed Rory Gilmore.

You whispered something to your friend, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was at Boston Logan airport (Sunday July 19) flying to DCA and kept noticing this guy in the airport. First while going through security around 4:30pm, in different lines, and then we ended up at the same gate for American Airlines Flight 1557 (5:23 pm) — which I was trying to get on standby for. Unfortunately, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was sitting at the bar at Tiger Fork on Saturday night (July 11) when a beautiful woman with model like features, dark hair in an updo, pale skin walked past me. I stopped her to tell her I loved her amazing pale, lavender purple dress with stringwork. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

On the Green Line on Sunday coming home from the Mystics game, I (dark blond hair, wearing a red Mystics shirt) was sitting near a pretty brunette wearing a Jade Melbourne jersey. We got to chatting about the WNBA, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I know this is a long shot and I’ve never done anything like this before, but… I wanted to try anyway.

We met on an amtrak train on July 5th. It was the 99 Northeast Regional train, and it left Philly at 2:45pm. We were both in Philly over the weekend visiting our respective friends. You had the window seat, and I asked if the seat next to you was free. You turned your focus to me and said yes. (And I thought you were a handsome stranger.) For most of the train ride we didn’t talk as you had headphones in, and I closed my eyes, sleeping in and out. We only talked during the last ~20 minutes before my stop when you made a sound, in-between a groan and a sigh and I asked, “Had a long weekend?” Our conversation continued when I asked another (more personal) question: (more…)
