“Dear PoPville,
I’m hoping the community can work its magic and help me find a missed connection. On Friday, October 30th around 3:15 p.m., I was driving home from work in stop-and-go traffic along Mass Ave. With my windows down, I came to a halt and noticed a line of people in costumes outside what I think was the Embassy of Belize. I made eye contact with a girl standing in line, and after exchanging smiles and waves, she held out her fist from 20 yards away and challenged me to a game of rock-paper-scissors right from my car. I happily obliged and
beat her three out of three times. She was wearing a green Buddy the Elf costume with yellow tights, and there is a good chance her name is Sophie; her friends were laughing at our interaction, and I heard someone yell “Sophie!” as I finally drove away. Even if this doesn’t reach her, I am super grateful for the fun interaction that totally made my afternoon.”
