“Dear PoPville,

I’m the manager at Martha’s Table Outfitters.

Earlier this week, one of our team members came across an old monogrammed photo wallet in the pocket of a man’s suit jacket that was donated to us. We would love to reunite the item with its owner as it appears to be a lovely family keepsake.

The outside of the wallet is monogrammed with the initials R.L.P. and the inside has two wedding photos and a portrait photo of a woman. Read More

“Dear PoPville,

I live in SE DC and I lost my two rings on New Years Eve. A block away from the White House. These rings have an immense sentimental value, the wedding band (going on our 3 year anniversary in two months) and my emerald ring which is a gift from my mother, I received it since I was 8 years old. I know the chances of finding them are very slim but I’m holding on to a miracle. Thank you!”

Ed. Note: If there is a miracle in the making please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP.

Just a random/awesome tutorial I found while trying to understand what the hell pickleball is

“Dear PoPville,

Last night walking home from Showtime I stumbled upon some pickleball paddles seemingly left in the dirt by the curb on 1st NW and U/V street. Originally I thought lucky me because this is the fastest growing sport in America and all the rage recently, in addition to the equipment being kind of pricey. This morning after doing some research, I have come to the realization that these paddles were most likely not left on the street for a good home but almost certainly dropped, lost, or forgotten as their Amazon retail value is a combined $250.”

If these are yours email me at [email protected] I’ll connect with you OP so you can describe what they look like.

“Dear PoPville,

I found an engagement ring near the Columbia heights metro this morning around 9:15. I would love to get it back to its owner. If whoever is claiming it could send a picture or description of the ring to verify it belongs to them I’d like to return it.”

If you think it’s yours please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP. Thanks.

“Dear PoPville,

I came home after work on Friday and found this giant kiddie pool in our backyard. Assuming it was our basement neighbor’s, I sorta brushed it off until my husband noticed it and said, “No way…earlier today I remember I was deep into some document and swore I saw something big falling out of the corner of my eye [from the office on the 2nd floor]…but then forgot about it and moved on. Guess that actually did happen!” 😂😂😂 We checked with our neighbor and confirmed that it wasn’t his either. Read More

11th and Park Road, NW

“Dear PoPville,

I believe it must have slipped off at or around the northwest corner of Park Road NW and 11th Street NW (outside of Meridian Pint). I’m crushed by the loss of this very sentimental item and if by some miracle one of your readers finds it I would be eternally grateful if they could notify you [[email protected]] or return it to Meridian Pint. It is a tungsten wedding band with a subtle rose gold inlay. There is some sort of manufacturer’s mark on the inside but otherwise no markings. Thank you!”

“Dear PoPville,

An acquaintance of mine was in D.C. from out of town this past weekend and suffered a car break-in on Saturday night (11/17) between 8 and 11:30 p.m. She was parked below I-695 near the corner of 8th and I (Eye) Streets SE.

She is missing a distinctive-looking messenger bag similar to the one in the photo — it’s a reddish color with a Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos-style skull — and some Mead spiral notebooks that were inside. The notebooks are important to her because they contain a bunch of her creative writing.

Both spiral notebooks have geometric designs — one in purple, the other possibly in green or black. Read More
