Hello Duchess. Surely pleased by Sunday’s snow.

As folks noted last time, “here’s a nice post from the Chicago Audubon Society on ethical owl viewing/photography.”

If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

And thanks to Yuri for sending this great take off: (more…)

Thanks to Jack for sending:

“I noticed two Peregrine Falcons on top of the rusty old radio tower between Harvard st and Columbia Rd, right off of 14th st. Looking back in your blog it looks like a few years ago they were seen on that same tower, so perhaps the same pair returned to the area (and maybe they always have!). I just saw one of them again today, so it seems like they could be here for the winter.”

Awesome photo in flight: (more…)
