In Trinidad:

“The line for COVID testing now is encircling the block. It goes down Orren curves onto Morse, curves onto Trinidad and has now crossed the alley and is heading towards Florida. The end of the line is now on Florida.”

From the NHL:

“The National Hockey League announced today that due to COVID-related issues affecting the Washington Capitals, tonight’s game at the Philadelphia Flyers has been postponed. A make-up date for the game has yet to be established.”

Mischa wrote on Sunday: “I called three different pharmacies and nobody has tests. One even picked up saying “Hello! This is CVS. We don’t have at-home Covid tests.” Does anyone in DC still have at-home tests?” (more…)

Thanks to L. for sending: “Just what you want to hear when you are waiting for test results after receiving an exposure notification!”

From Testing Results (DOH):

“DC Health was notified of an IT integration error that impacted some individuals who were tested between December 11 through December 14, 2021 at DC Health’s public testing sites and test yourself locations. As we work towards resolution in collaboration with our technology and lab partners, we advise you to re-test in order to have a test result that reflects your current infection status. (more…)

Thanks to Allison for sending: “I just wanted to share that I had a super easy time getting my Pfizer booster through GW! You can pre-register online, however they easily accommodate walk-ins.

I was checked-in immediately around 9:45 and boosted right after, then out the door after the 15min safety period!

I had previously tried to book a booster online via One Medical (no appointments) and CVS/Walgreens (two-week lead time) so just wanted to spread the news since it may be a bit more efficiently run than a city site.

Thanks and happy holidays!”

Regarding testing other readers write:

“FYI I got an exposure alert so I tried to get tested at the Sherman Ave nw firehouse and they said they ran out of their tests today and yesterday so it seems like testing demand is way back up. Don’t run up right at 7:30 like I just tried to if you need one!

Might want to let folks know the demand is way up! Guessing a mix of omicron + holiday travel”

“Just wanted to make sure people are aware of Curative testing sites since they’re not on the DC testing website but they have a ton of appointments available, including same day at a bunch of them. I went yesterday at 1 and they were super friendly and I got my results back already at 6:30 this morning. Thanks!”

Thanks to A. for passing on: “Saw this come up and wanted to share for awareness, hopefully not reflective of a wider trend in the city”

From George Washington University:
