The professional company returns to where it all began with a winter performance Saturday evening and a matinee on Sunday afternoon for all-ages. Eric Hampton’s “Unravel”will open the program. BMDC’s Choreographer in Residence, Ilana Goldman will share a new piece titled “Facile Manipulations”. The evening will also explore the intersection of dance and engineering with a premiere piece commissioned by Drexel University and choreographed by Lucy Bowen McCauley. The finished piece includes a special music composition written by Jordan Key, a PhD in Music Composition from the University of Florida that explores circles and Pi. The program will conclude with Lucy’s ever popular “Lucy’s Local Playlist.” Enjoy an up close and intimate performance and celebrate the holiday season with some of the top contemporary dancers from the Mid-Atlantic region. Join BMDC’s After-party with cast, crew, staff and Board on Saturday evening for some good cheer and talented faces.
