Thanks to Steve for sending yesterday from Columbia Heights: “neat to see that the metro money train is still running, given all the train issues the last few months.”

“Dear PoPville,
We live in NE (Ft.Totten/Lamond Riggs area) and when my husband was taking our dog out he found these empty 9mm shell casings in our backyard. We are not gun owners and we have no idea where they came from. That said, we were wondering if there was anything we should do with these other than just dispose of them, like notify law enforcement or some other entity? I’m sure this sort of thing happens a lot all over DC and we figured we’d see if anyone else has any thoughts on this.”

Thanks to Oswald for sharing: “Today’s first photo finds a new sign being put up this morning on the 14th St. space once occupied by Home Rule. Not sure what Amazon may be popping up here; presumably not the “Fresh” stuff it sells one-half block south.”

fmcfad01 asks yesterday: “what’s this weird balloon over Eckington? Maybe over the train tracks toward RI Ave?”
This is the AirPhotosLive imaging balloon! Our last sighting was October 2021. Lots of info, and the super sweet view it sees, here.

Thanks to Dan for sending on Saturday: “I was outside of my hotel earlier today and along comes this guy dressed like a chef, dragging a net full of baguettes down the street. Curious if anyone else saw this? Just when I think I’ve seen everything!”
