“Lime is launching its industry leading Gen4 electric scooter in the District this week, making Washington DC one of the first cities in North America to have a full fleet of the new model available for use. The Gen4 scooter will provide DC riders with the safest, smoothest, and most environmentally friendly shared scooter ride available. The new Gen4 scooters will also be equipped with lock-to technology in order to comply with new regulations that will require scooters to be locked to bike racks, sign posts for parking or stop signs, or left in in-street bicycle and scooter corrals. “Mayor Bowser Extends Deadline for Ticket Amnesty Program Until December 31, 2021”

From the Mayor’s Office:

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the Ticket Amnesty Program deadline has been extended from September 30 until December 31, 2021. Since the program launched on June 1, 2021, more than 32,000 drivers have already participated in the program, collectively settling $44 million worth of tickets. Now, District and non-District drivers have until the end of the year to take advantage of the District’s amnesty program that provides the opportunity to pay, without the doubling penalty, outstanding tickets for parking, photo enforcement, and minor moving violations. Thanks to Jeremy for sending the new scooter locks seen on Georgia Ave. Last week we learned that “Starting October 1, DC law will require all riders to lock scooters to a bike rack, sign post, or bike/scooter corral after use.”
