“Dear PoPville,
On the morning of Saturday August 19th, I was on a motorcycle and got run over by a semi truck at the intersection of 7th street and New York ave while stopped at the light. The driver pushed forward while our light to left was red. I got crushed under the the front right tire. (more…)

Jared wrote us: “NBD, just a segway exploding at Dulles. Happened around 7:30pm. Walked by briskly as it was smoking. When I got to security, it burst into flames.”
Dulles wrote: ‘ALERT: Around 7:30p.m. smoke was observed in the main terminal caused by a police motorized segway. Passengers evacuated as a safety precaution. MWAA Fire and Rescue responded, contained the smoke and completed ventilation by 9 p.m. Operations resumed afterwards.”

If you are driving your way through a crosswalk, as you will often find yourself doing FROM THE DAY YOU BECOME a licensed driver – instead of inching your vehicle closer and closer to the pedestrian who is justly crossing within the allotted time… WAIT and allow the crosswalk to clear. Driving up Rock Creek Parkway around 5:50pm (Thursday), I encountered two separate cars driving the wrong direction – one around the M St exit, and one about a mile south of Calvert St. Perhaps there’s a problem with the roadblocks?
H. sends last night: “Major crash in the ramp on to 395 from 695 at 9:30pm. Everyone is okay and getting care.”

“Dear PoPville,
he scene on the 3600 block of 14th St NW in Columbia Heights (between Perry Pl and Spring Rd). I have not heard yet what happened. A passerby asked one of the police officers and the response was simply: “car accident.” The block has been shut down to traffic since at least 0800 this morning, Saturday 29 July, 2023. As of 1015 they have opened the sidewalk on the west side of the street to pedestrians.
There is at least one bicycle in a heavily damaged state. A person’s shoe remains behind near the bicycle in the road. (more…)
