This is one of the better non house number ones I’ve seen.

This is one of the better non house number ones I’ve seen.

I’m a huge fan of hanging stained glass like this. Is this another example of art deco?

One of the best transoms I’ve ever seen from Logan Circle.

I am fortunate for a few things but one of my favorites is the fact that there seems to be a never ending supply of sweet transoms in DC. The other thing I love is that I have a horrible memory so sometimes ones that I’ve seen before seem new to me. These are from the Burleith/Georgetown area. Do you prefer one style over the other?

Another good non house number example. It’s from near U St, NW.

Which do you like better, with it or without the house number included?

This cool one is from right near the C&O Canal.

I could only stay away from these for so many weeks… Anyone ever notice how some of the really old ones tend to bubble a bit (sorta like the one below)? Can anyone explain why it happens?

I’m not sure if this is technically a transom but I’ve never seen one this size and this intricate. This is also from Capitol Hill.

I like finding ones that look like they’re 100 years old.
