I know it’s a little odd since it’s a funeral home but it really is a sweet sign, yeah?

At long last the mystery is solved. Park View and Pleasant Plains are part of greater Columbia Heights. At least that’s what the sign says. Right?

Whose actually heard of Truxton Circle before? It is pretty close to the Bloomingdale neighborhood. Great banner.

Wow, when did the Angry Inch bar on 18th Street in Adams Morgan change it’s name? I think this new sign looks pretty ridiculous. Do you like this sign?
So what’s the story here, is this a new bar? Is it any good?

I’m just saying…

I like it even if it is only a banner. Speaking of EL Haynes, I’d like to congratulate them on some good math and reading improvements.
“E.L. Haynes Public Charter School made dramatic 19- and 18- percentage point gains in Math and Reading, respectively, on the 2008 DCCAS, reaching Adequate Yearly Progress and demonstrating the strength of its academic model. These gains outperformed the District’s already-impressive statewide gains by nearly 3-to-1 in Reading and nearly 2-to-1 in Math. E.L. Haynes also more than doubled the percentage of students scoring at Advanced levels in both categories; 25% of Haynes students are Advanced in Math.”

Right? It looks like someone is getting abducted from behind. That certainly doesn’t indicate a safe place to me. Right? My safe place sign would have a picture of Elle Macpherson, a few meximelts from Taco Bell, some Dunkin Donuts coffee and maybe a couple of bottles of Budweiser. Then I’d know it was a safe place for sure.

“Indestructible” enough said.

Big Monkey Comics on 14th Street has a sweet new sign and sculpture above it. Monkeys are pretty fresh, no doubt about it.
