Well this is the nicest Dentist sign I’ve ever seen. Then again Phelps Place is a pretty sweet block. In addition to the cool sign they’ve also got a pretty great lawn decoration that really speaks to me:

I know it’s from Baltimore but this is way too funny not to post. Thanks to future pop attorney for posting the photos in the PoPville flickr pool and writes:

“So so sad. You see how the City of Baltimore feels about its court clerks. Though not a court clerk, I am a clerk in the court, so it saddens me to see this poor stump everyday. It kind of represents the hopes of Baltimore that were perhaps once great, but are now just a stump.”

I thought I had put up a different sign from this same spot a while back but I can’t seem to find it. So it turns out this spot has a Web site:

“Louis’ Rogue has one of the largest main stages in Washington, DC. The finest Washington has to offer, we have two main stages and personal stage dances, along with pool tables, video games and 42″ plasma TVs with Direct TV satellite. Located just four blocks from the DC Convention Center, Gallery Place Metro and MCI Arena, we offer alcohol, beer, snacks, food, drinks and dancing.”

It’s located at 476 K Street NW.

Perhaps the owners of the house on 16th and T should look into this. But seriously, I’ve seen a few of these signs around town. Does anyone know how they work? My understanding is that the city will pay for some of your renovations. Is that right? If so, I’d say that’s a mighty fine perk of living in a historic district.

Another sign lover seems to have salvaged this sign. I saw it in someone’s yard on Sherman Ave. It says “Mad T Music Box”. They have to get hooked up again. I bet it looks super fresh with the neon shining. Anyone know where this sign came from? A former DC spot?
