Our last Unnecessary quotations was from the GPO. I’m delighted to present this round from the Brookville Grocery Store in Cleveland Park. Whether or not it’s technically fresh isn’t too important…

A friend of mine found this sign posted in a Logan Circle liquor store. In a similar vein no guns are allowed at the old stone house in Georgetown. Both seem like reasonable requests…
Sometimes I can be having a bad day and spot a sign like this and it instantly turns around. This great sign was spotted in Bloomingdale.

Haydee’s located at 3102 Mt. Pleasant Street, NW has applied for sidewalk seating. I say the more outdoor seating the better.

I once wondered if the name Oriental Deli was a bit insensitive. Now, I think it’s just a bit nonsensical…
Oriental Deli is located on 14th St, NW in north Columbia Heights. And coincidentally PoPville flickr user Blinkofanaye also caught a great shot:
I wonder how many other Oriental Pupuserias exist?

Thanks to all who wrote in after last week’s Has EatMore Fried Chicken Closed? post (Georgia and Quincy Streets, NW). It looks like they’ve gone the way of KFC and are de-emphasizing the fried part. I still like the name but I’m not sure if EatMore Chicken has the panache of EatMore Fried Chicken. Or perhaps they just haven’t put up the ‘Fried’ part of the sign yet…
