I’ve walked by this Church dozens of times and always thought it was cool because it’s nestled into a residential block. But it was only when I was dropping off a PoP t-shirt that I noticed the coolest part:

This is the first sculpture I’ve seen with glasses. I totally dig it. Free t-shirt for the first person who knows where this is from.

I’ve posted this guy before but I liked the addition of a dandelion behind his ear. Made for a nice contrast.

This sculpture is from Howard University. It was really interesting to me because I hadn’t explored Howard’s campus before. I was only familiar with a few signs from Georgia Ave. and thought the campus looked rather bleak. But it is actually quite beautiful. I’m glad my initial impression couldn’t have been more wrong.

I stumbled upon a number of them this past weekend.

This one is in tribute to Tomas Masaryk.  It says “…creator of democracy…”.  I thought the Greeks, not the Czechs, were the creators of democracy…

I love finding new examples of these sculptures above doors. This one is fantastic. It was sorta in the Dupont/Kalorama neighborhoods.

This sculpture actually creeped me out, truth be known. But it always amazes me how I can walk past something so many times without noticing it and then one day I’m like “what the hell is that?”. Wild. So here’s the real question – does anyone recognize where it’s from?
