“Dear PoPville,

Looking for advice on pot smoke from my neighbor’s rowhouse getting into mine. My kids and I are obviously home and so are the neighbors. I mentioned to them that I really smell their pot, and while they were polite, they basically stated they planned to smoke at home everyday while they, too, are at home. It’s their way of coping. They asked it it’s better if they smoke outside, but that comes in our house too. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I live in a U-shaped apartment complex where, if I look out my window, I have some great views directly into my neighbors apartments. Now that everyone is working from home, some of my neighbors have taken an interest in my cat, Pico, and we’ve been communicating about her through signs posted in our windows.” (more…)

“My mom’s 16 year old toy poodle got out of the gate and across the street and fell down the sewer drain (at Crittenden & Queens Chapel NE). Prince the poodle is elderly, blind, and deaf. My mom called me in a panic at 4:00, saying that our neighbor had seen Prince fall. 311 dispatched Humane Rescue Alliance, and the DC fire department later arrived to try to open every man hole near where Prince was last seen. After 2 hours I thought we would call it. But the DC humane rescue did not give up!

DC water opened the cemented man hole covers and went atleast a 1/2 mile down the street trying to open every man hole cover. When we were ready to give up (again), DC water removed the last cover and DC humane society fearlessly went into the hole and found Prince!!

We were so impressed with how compassionate, relentless and professional the humane rescue staff were and can not thank them enough!! In this time of uncertainty, it’s great to know that people still really care and that we haven’t given up on each other, or our pets!!”

And some more awesome: (more…)

From Corona Virus.dc.gov:

“Tips for Safe Sex

You are your safest sex partner; masturbation is always safe sex.
Wash your hands or any sex toys with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after.
If you live with a partner, check-in first and make sure you are both feeling well before sex.

Be Careful

Kissing can pass COVID-19. Consider not kissing anyone you do not know or who you are not sure has been isolated for 14 days. (more…)

Earlier this morning Jennie tweeted us: “Fun exercising on the National Mall this am as a cop drove around blasting “Eye of the Tiger” as we ran.” Fortunately Kate Bell got some video above of it – thanks to Kate for allowing us to share it.

“Dear PoPville,

I would like to thank an anonymous stellar human. I dropped my entire wallet in Rock Creek Park on Sunday. Before I returned to my house from my hike, someone had returned my wallet in my mailbox in NE with only this note: “Found in Rock Creek Park”. I appreciate the time they took to drive to my house and return this. It made my day!”
