“Dear PoPville,

I live on a narrow one way street. It’s just wide enough that two cars can slip by, but what often happens is some oblivious person or large truck idles in the street without pulling over far enough to let the cars behind around. This leads to everyone in the back incessantly honking their horns, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

We live across the street from a construction site that regularly replaces their overfilled dumpster before 6 AM. I’ve learned firsthand that the whole process is more complicated and takes longer than it seems. When I last complained to the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, their response was “Hello, The results of this inspection on (1/6/22) was “No violation”, being Superintendent stated the dumpster has been there a month and not switched out, because it’s not full yet.”

How is that a response to my claim + picture proof (more…)

From the National Capital Planning Commission:

“On February 16, 2022 NCPC heard an exciting vision to capitalize on the Avenue’s unique location, setting, scale, and views and reimagine it as a venue for pre-eminent outdoor events, while offering multiple transportation modes and accessible, inviting public space for people for everyday use. “Dear PoPville,

Since covid, I’ve noticed an uptick in neighborhood home construction on Sundays. Is this just going on unregulated at this point? A 311 request rarely yields any sort of timely response. Honestly, I’m not entirely bothered by it; if this means the home is flipped sooner then all the better. But I do wonder what other oversight is just going by the wayside at this point.”

Reno Road and Tilden Street, NW/Tilden towards Sedgwick

Dear Dog Walkers doing this,

First and foremost, thank you for picking up after your pup. That is very much appreciated, truly.

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve been stuck at my transfer station for over 20 minutes — I’m going to miss a meeting because it will take me an hour and fifteen minutes to go less than 5 miles.

I really really want to support public transit but the time tables are wrong, the trains are constantly late, and it’s so unpredictable I don’t know if I can keep using it for work. Are things going to get better? Can anyone talk me out of buying a vehicle?

Ed. Note: Yesterday we posted about the upcoming retirement of WMATA General Manager and CEO Paul J. Wiedefeld.
