A bit odd that they don’t show photos of the bedrooms but what do you think of the photos that they do share? Does $659,900 sound realistic for this 4 bed/3 bath?

I swear I’m not gonna make every Friday a “Was it a” GDoN post. This one was requested by the owners but already went under contract before I got to post it. They got multiple offers and it went under contract in only 2 days! Wild.

Anyway, what do you think of the renovation? Are you surprised it went under contract this fast? The asking price for this 5 bed/5 bath was $729,000.

A reader writes:

“Can we judge El Torogoz? My parents are visiting next week and I was trying to figure out restaurant options near the house. I have never been there and I was wondering if this is a good place.”

El Torogoz is located at 4231 9th St NW (just north of Upshur). While it’s been a while – I’ve always enjoyed the food there. As some may mention – occasionally the jukebox plays at a pretty loud volume but other than that I’ve had very pleasant experiences. I remember being surprised at how much I liked the ceviche. Anyone else check out El Torogoz?

Well I waited a little too long to post this one. It’s already under contract in 8 days. But I’m still curious what folks think of the renovation. This 3 bed/2.5 bath was going for $550,000. Did someone get a good deal?

“Dear PoP,

Just wanted to let you know that Petworth’s famous tethered goat on Webster Street (across from EL Haynes) is no longer with us. I noticed it was missing a few days ago while out on a walk. It is sad because it was such a random sight, a large white sculpted goat that was chained up in the front yard. It actually looks like both the goat house and the house next to it are getting cleaned up. Not sure if they are going to be renovated and sold or what, but I thought you would like to know that one of our old timers is gone. I am sad about this, but I understand that the goat most likely wouldn’t have been considered an amenity. That is all.”

One of the few lawn decoration of the day sculptures that I labeled phenomenal. I loved the fact that it was not just an awesome goat but that it had a chain around its neck. Too good. Indeed, today is a sad day.

From an email:

“Have you heard about the exhibit in at the Petworth CORHAUS this Friday from 6-10?  The show is called Ex-Apparatus.   The artist’s work looks very interesting on his website .  Apparently, he adheres his photography to to repurposed industrial and architectural material.”

Corehaus is located at 825 Upshur Street, NW near Domku.
