“We found this incredibly sweet pooch running loose without a leash or collar around 8:00 this evening at 6th/O Streets NW. She has an amazingly friendly temperament and was not afraid of us at all. She seems well-nourished and clean, so I doubt she is a stray.

We took her to the Humane Rescue Alliance shelter on NY Ave NE so that she would have a warm place to stay tonight. She weighs 28 lbs, is spayed, but not microchipped.”

“The Cheeky Puppy will say goodbye to Dupont Circle as of Christmas Eve. While we’ve loved being part of the community, it makes the most business sense to focus instead on our burgeoning online business with a more flexible footprint than full-time bricks and mortar allows.

We are fully stocked going into the holiday, but have seriously discounted some items in preparation for our pivot – 30% off collars and leashes chief among the deals! We also have some fixtures available that won’t be moving to our online hub.”

“Dark brown miniature poodle or miniature poodle mix going a bit gray with some white on her chest and a white moustache & beard. She was enjoying garbage day in the alley behind the 1100/1200 blocks of Girard/Fairmont. Sweet, hungry, a little scared. Already bossing my dog around. Find her at crorke(at)gmail.com”

“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I have decided we are finally ready to adopt a dog! DC/VA/MD seem to have an abundance of rescue and animal welfare organizations and we want to make sure we adopt from a good one. I would be interested in hearing from PoPville readers about their experiences adopting dogs in DC and rescues they would or would not recommend to a potential adopter.”

“WASHINGTON, DC: PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR WINNIE (GOLDEN RETRIEVER). Our building (Capitol View on 14) reported that an Asian man who claimed to be a dog walker, picked her up several hours ago and did not return her. We are desperately searching for her.”

Update
: “thank you everyone. She’s been located. It was a new dog walker for the building across the street (same apartment #) and he just returned her. Honestly the most traumatizing half hour of our lives worrying about our little girl but she’s safe and sound (and we have implemented a new security process with the building for her walks). Thank you everyone for the quick attention to Winnie!!”
