“Dear PoPville,

We had a break in in the 1400 block of Perry Pl, and I was wondering if you could include the below on PoP in case anyone has any info:

We had a break in at our house last evening and at least 1 male entered our house and around 12:30am. The intruder, who entered multiple bedrooms, stole keys and stole one of our cars and a wallet, may have also tried other houses on the block. (more…)

“Dear Popville, do you know the story about this building at 14th and Parkwood? Construction stopped years ago (on google map time lapse you can see construction started in 2014, and it’s been sitting like this since 2016). In an otherwise rapidly renovated area, why is this frozen in time? Wondering if it violates the height restriction because the door appears to be on the smaller street of Parkwood rather than on 14th. Does anyone know the story? Will it remain like this forever?”

11th and Park Road, NW Saturday Night.

Red Rocks can not catch a break. Fortunately they’ve been able to reopen both Columbia Heights and H Street locations pretty quickly. From Red Rocks:

“We had a fire in our office on the 2nd floor but it was contained and after an afternoon of cleanup, we’re back open.”

Props to DC’s Bravest!!

From MPD:

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the rear of the 1300 block of Monroe Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

Update:

“Dear PoPville,

Can the Columbia Heights Giant please collect their shopping carts. I see them all over the neighborhood. These are 7 of them lined up on Holmead Place, with more further down the street.”

Are folks noticing more than usual? I thought these carts had the wheels that lock when they leave a certain distance? Are others also noticing more than the usual number of carts?
