“HFStival RETURNS TO D.C. AFTER 13 YEARS
I.M.P. AND NATIONALS PARK PRESENT THE HFStival SATURDAY, SEPT. 21
LOTTERY FOR TICKETS TO THE LEGENDARY FESTIVAL BEGINS NOW THROUGH JUNE 16
In 2005, D.C.’s first and longest-running progressive rock station moved from its place on the dial. While it was missed after its fade-out from terrestrial radio relevance, what left the greatest void was its most famous creation…the HFStival.
Starting in 1990, the HFStival was a yearly monster of an event that sold out quickly and featured the absolute best artists of that era each year, like The Ramones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, No Doubt, Beck, Oasis, blink-182, and The Offspring.
The Washington Nationals and I.M.P. are reviving HFStival to cater to the recent explosion of acts from that era. (more…)

“The HFStival was an annual Washington, D.C. / Baltimore rock festival. Held every summer from 1990 through 2006 by radio station WHFS, and held again in 2010 and 2011 in commemoration of the now-defunct station’s legacy, the HFStival was at its peak the largest yearly music festival on the East Coast, drawing 55,000 to 90,000 people. It was held at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C. from 1993 to 2004, after which the station moved it to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.”
