Thanks to a reader for sending the heads up about this one:
“This is in Bloomingdale at the (totally wonderful) New Reservoir market.”
It’s from the same artist, Joel Bergner, who just refreshed the one on the side of Bloombars in Columbia Heights.

Thanks to a reader for sending this mural from 19th St, NW near Biltmore. I think another reader sent this one in a couple of months ago but I had no idea how huge it was. I still don’t understand it, but I dig it.

@CSSiddall tweets:
“Remember Me” sign going up on 16th near Meridian House now.”
PoPville flickr user dcjabbour also got a shot. Anyone know who we’re remembering?

March 2012
Bloombars is located at 3222 11th Street, NW in Columbia Heights. The original mural went up in Oct. 2009.

The only thing that stayed the same is the boy in the center:

Thanks to everyone who sent emails about this mural going up in Bloomingdale on the unit block of Florida Ave, NW. And extra thanks to Sam for sending the photo above and David for sending the photo below.

A reader writes:
“Not sure if this has been published already, but found this cool graffiti at the corner of Kalorama and Champlain St, NW.”
Link is to what the graffiti used to look like:

We admired this mural back in Oct. 2011 but it’s super cool to compare it to the before photo. You can also see some close ups of what it used to look like, here.

This is just east of 7th/Georgia Ave. I’m super curious to see how this one turns out – so far I can only make out what I think will be a flamingo.

Actually they’re quite normal houses (from Pleasant Plains) but I loved seeing the mural in the background through the alley:

“Any idea what in the world this Kalorama garage mural is about?”
I’m imagining it could be the set up for an elaborate drinking game…

AYT Auto closed at the end of Dec. ’11 at 14th and R St, NW (next to Miss Pixie’s.) Looks like Aston Condos construction is progressing and will soon overtake the AYT mural. I’ll remember you fondly.
