Ed. Note: Have gotten a few reports like this on our twitter too.

“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I had a Covid exposure over the weekend. We picked up a PCR test at the West End library on Tuesday and submitted the sample in the outside collection bin at 6:02pm on Tuesday. I know this because the library had just closed. Both my husband and I just received the text message below stating our samples weren’t processed because they weren’t received before 8pm, which is not true. Now we’re scrambling to find another testing option before seeing family members this weekend. Really frustrating.”

DC Health reports at 1:37pm:

DC Health is aware that some TestYourselfDC users have incorrectly received a message stating their sample was received after the 8pm cutoff time. Samples are still being processed as expected and we are working with our vendors to make adjustments.

Ed. Note: Regarding these tests folks have been wondering about the timing of getting the results, Florence wrote us this morning: “The timing improved, first time we did one last week took 5 days to get results and the second time this week less than 3. We did them late Monday night right before the box closed and got them just now!”

From the Mayor’s Office:

“When the Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships (Serve DC) put out the call for volunteers, YOU responded and we have been most inspired by your acts of kindness.

Together, with our #DCValues lighting our path, and the generosity of your time, we assembled over 20,000 self-test kits for DC residents, across all 8 Wards.

But there is still more to do.  Read More

Let’s Talk Testing

Mischa wrote on Sunday: “I called three different pharmacies and nobody has tests. One even picked up saying “Hello! This is CVS. We don’t have at-home Covid tests.” Does anyone in DC still have at-home tests?” Read More

Thanks to L. for sending: “Just what you want to hear when you are waiting for test results after receiving an exposure notification!”

From Testing Results (DOH):

“DC Health was notified of an IT integration error that impacted some individuals who were tested between December 11 through December 14, 2021 at DC Health’s public testing sites and test yourself locations. As we work towards resolution in collaboration with our technology and lab partners, we advise you to re-test in order to have a test result that reflects your current infection status. Read More
