Back in September we noted that the first floor of MARVIN Temporarily Closed for “10 year anniversary prep.” Update from MARVIN:

“At our 10 year mark, we decided in August to renovate bistro at Marvin. With a couple months to reflect on it, we all realized that the true importance of Marvin is in the cultural and entertainment realm. After considering all of the ways we wanted to add to the neighborhood, we decided to re-open the first floor as Marvin Social- a small live music venue, offering good food and inventive cocktails serving the vibrant and diverse community of our neighborhood. The current schedule is here under “Marvin Social Performance Line Up”. In keeping with supporting our community, we’ve partnered with Joe Herrera to book local talent and Dwayne Morton, our beverage director, has been working hard on curating our cocktail menu to feature local distilleries.”

You can see the menu for Marvin Social + Roof Deck here.

“Dear PoPville,

I am hoping you might share the word and photos about my 2 missing bikes. They are my prized possessions and I am heartbroken that someone stole them this week. We went on so many cool adventures around DC and beyond together. If anyone sees these bikes, please call the DC police and report their location. The bikes have been reported stolen and serial numbers are with the police.”

I would like to take this time to thank each and every last person that has come out to support the business over our tenure. It has truly been a blessing to be a vessel to bring so many different people from all different walks of life and create art and relationships that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to every last artist and collector that chose to make the shop home and contribute to our small part of history in this microcosm of life.
