Here’s Capital Fringe’s New Home in Trinidad

Back in June we learned that Capital Fringe was moving from Mt. Vernon Square to Trinidad. Their website says:

“Phase one’s tentative plan is to build a black box theatre on the first floor and one rehearsal space on the second floor (with 24-hour access). We plan to start theatre and musical performances, along with a bar, come January and to operate through the 2015 Festival. Plans for a larger Phase two build-out are in the works, but will not materialize until the necessary funds are in place to break ground.”

Looking forward to the next Fringe Festival – their liquor license transfer says:

“Seating capacity of 350 and total occupancy load of 350. Summer Garden with 100 seats.”

Check Out Trinidad’s Newly Opened Hardware Store – W.S. Jenks & Son “Washington’s Oldest Hardware Store”

A little over a couple months old – I finally checked out W.S. Jenks & Son’s new Trinidad location near H Street, NE. The folks were super nice and the place is stocked with all your hardware needs:

“Established in 1866, W.S. Jenks is Washington’s most complete source for Tools, Hardware, and Machinery”

And the space is huge – was on old car showroom. And W.S. Jenks is super old with some great history:

“It hit that silver car on the lower right hard enough to flip!! That car seems to be the only parked car that took a hit. Not sure if the driver was drunk or not. But that area of the hill was pretty slick with ice when I came in last night.”

Bardo Brewpub Welcomes Winter with Restored Building

Research has shown that the only building permit granted to the address occured in 1914, making the structure 100 years old. “The building had really good bones, it just needed a little TLC”, commented Bardo spokesman, Andrew Stewart. “The brick walls had been covered in plaster for 70+ years and tar paper from a previous linoleum floor was stuck to the hardwood.”

A wide variety of GABF award winning house brews are available in pints and pitchers as well as growlers. MPD Seeks Sexual Assault/Robbery Suspect in Trinidad

“The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a robbery and sexual assault that occurred in the 1100 block of 16th Street, NE.

On Thursday, October 30, 2014, at approximately 12:15 am, an adult female was walking in the 1100 block of 16th Street, NE, where she was approached by the suspect who robbed and sexually assaulted the victim.

The suspect is described as a black male, short hair, medium complexion, approximately 5`6″ in height, in his 30`S, with a cross tattoo on his right face/cheek. He was last seen wearing a black hoody, black pants, and black shoes.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”

“My boyfriend found this girl around 11:30pm at the corner of Oates and Holbrook in Trinidad. She was very friendly, with a collar but no tags. She was scanned at WHS but doesn’t have a microchip. Unfortunately, she started to not get along with my pup so she is currently at the shelter on NY Ave. [1201 New York Ave NE]”
