Christian Broder, via GoFundMe

From an email:

“The Georgetown Events family is devastated by the heartless and cowardly act of violence against our beloved friend, partner and colleague, Christian. [partner/general manager at Millie’s in Spring Valley] He is the loving father of 9 month old Frances, the husband of my wife’s sister Molly and the son of the wonderful Broder family of Atlanta. He is in critical condition in intensive care fighting so hard to live. The staff at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta has worked around the clock since Sunday performing one miraculous surgery after another to keep Christian alive. Please pray for him. A gofundme page has been set www.gofundme.com/supporting-christian-broder

From a press release:

“Fans of the beloved Nantucket restaurant, Millie’s, can look forward to the grand opening of Millie’s DC, scheduled to open in early 2017 in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Washington, DC.

About Millie’s: As featured in the New York Times and Town & Country, Millie’s pays homage to the relaxed, beachside attitude so loved by locals and visitors of Nantucket. The California baja-style menu focuses on fresh, local seafood and produce and the island-famous Madaket Mystery. The Millie’s family at Georgetown Events [Bayou on Penn, Due South, Surfside, Jetties, Smith Point, The Bullpen] looks forward to bringing a taste of the island to Washington, DC.”

First Natalie Portman and now Julia Louis-Dreyfus – it’s been a very good week…

A reader reported yesterday just after 5pm:

“Asked a lady and said they were lining up to be extras on the HBO show “Veep”. I dunno…kinda cool.”

Definitely cool!! And Julia Louis-Dreyfus instagrams her old stomping grounds in Spring Valley.

And this is the house I grew up in. #Veep #worldscolliding @thesamrichardson
