C. writes: “A building undergoing work for underpinnings had an unintended collapse. About 2pm was the major collapse. I walked past maybe 20 minutes before and noticed a large whole in the exterior brick wall and noticed workers were digging a ditch beside the house. Back in March we learned that Qualia Coffee “decided to shelve plans to rebuild and reopen the shop at 3917 Georgia Ave.” A new bar called Snappy’s will be taking over the space.
The liquor license placard for Snappy’s says:

My wife Jean and I want to send a big thank you to all of the people on Shepherd Street NW for PorchFest on Saturday April 29. Our 13-month old Jack had a simple febrile seizure, and gave his parents quite a panic. We want to let the community know how grateful we were for your help calling 911 and keeping us calm.
