Readers reported around 6:45pm Sunday:
“Shooting in Shaw on corner of Giant just now. Heard two shots. Police now blocking street off” Ed. Note: Semantics but this was likely shots fired where nobody was hit, fortunately, because I didn’t see a shooting report from MPD.
Unrelated but MPD reported at 3:20am: “Shooting in the 1800blk of 9th St NW. [around S Street, NW] No lookout at this time.”
Update from MPD:
“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, August 23, 2021, in the 1800 block of 9th Street, Northwest.

DC Fire and EMS and reported: “This was the scene that greeted #DCsBravest when they arrived at the scene of the Working Fire in the unit block of Bryant St. NW. Despite the intensity of the flames, they prevented the blaze from extending to the 3rd floor or to adjacent homes.”
First reported at 7:30pm Sunday: “Box Alarm unit block Bryant St NW. Smoke showing 2nd floor of 3 story middle row dwelling.”
