To say I’m excited about this would be a bit of understatement, to say I’ve dreamed of this my whole life would be a bit of an overstatement, to say I’m absolutely stoked would be spot on. If you told me 16 years ago, Prince of Petworth/PoPville would be what it is today, well, I couldn’t have imagined it in my wildest dreams. The community/communities that have emerged is my greatest joy. My second greatest joy is this beer!!! Not many people know this about me but from time to time I like to enjoy a beer – every day at 5pm sharp to be precise. To have the opportunity to celebrate 16 years with our own beer is pretty special. I’m super grateful to the folks at Atlas Brew Works who took my pie in the sky idea and turned it into a damn fine brew.

From the Mayor’s Office:

“Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced new progress at the McMillan Sand Filtration Site, a 25-acre site located at North Capitol Street and Michigan Avenue NW in Ward 5. At the financial closing today (Thursday), the District received $17.3 million and full-scale development has now commenced at this transformative project, which is expected to create 146 homeownership opportunities and more than 450 apartments. On Wednesday, September 28, at 3:50 pm I was riding a scooter and hit by a car at the intersection of Mass Ave and 21st street, nw. I was thrown 20 feet and became unconscious. I was transported to the ER in an ambulance and don’t remember the accident. (more…)
