Nando’s PERi-PERi, the beloved South African restaurant brand recognized around the world for its spicy flame-grilled chicken, opens its new-and-improved flagship location today on F Street in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington. The new Nando’s is at 836 F Street, NW, just a block from the Capital One Arena, in the space once occupied by the Spy Museum.

Nando’s has closed its nearby restaurant on 7th Street in Chinatown, making way for a handsome new location with bespoke South African design. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’m a Foggy Bottom resident living at one of the condo buildings at 26th and K St. There’s a lovely free little library box in the park on 26th St that has amassed quite the collection recently. It’s not associated with the Little Free Library Network (I actually did look this up). Unfortunately, yesterday it got so many books that the bottom shelf collapsed. (more…)
