“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 1200 Block of Emerson Street, Northeast. On Sunday, February 22, 2015, at approximately 12:39pm, members of the Fourth District responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of Emerson Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital.
Witnesses intervened and detained 18-year-old Ravinel Oliver of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, who was arrested by Fourth District Officers. A second suspect, 20-year-old Keith Leftwich of Northeast, Washington, DC was also arrested. The victim later succumbed to his injuries. Both suspects have been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.
The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Torrey Bowman of Northeast, Washington, DC”
