Solidcore Gym coming to new ‘Avec’ building on H Street, NE

Avec, a transformational $200 million mixed-use development encompassing two blocks at 901 H St. NE, is pleased to announce today that its first lease is with Solidcore, a rapidly expanding boutique-fitness chain with dozens of locations.

Solidcore, led by successful entrepreneur and renowned motivational speaker Anne Mahlum, has committed to 2,500 square feet at Avec, which is scheduled to open in 2020 and will feature 420 multi-family units along with 44,300 square feet of street-front retail space that may accommodate restaurants and many other uses.

“The Fifth District is working a shooting in the 1600 block of Kramer Street NE that occurred on July 10, 2018 at approximately 7:57PM. The victim was shot once in the stomach and once in the thigh. “On Saturday, 6/30/18 at approximately 2316 hours Officers were flagged down for a fight in progress in the 1200 block of H Street NE. Officers intervened and attempted to separate the parties, when two of the parties struck one of the officers in the face with their fists injuring the officer and breaking her glasses. Both of the individuals were arrested and charged with APO, It was determined later that a stabbing call for service around the corner in the 1100 block of I street NE for a victim suffering with a stab wound to the abdomen was related to the fight on H Street NE. The victim was transported to a local hospital and the case was closed with one of the two arrested subjects also being charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.”

Dangerously Delicious Pies Moving Forward with Expansion Plans on H Street

Back in early May we shared some scuttlebutt about Dangerously Delicious Pies expansion plans. CONFIRMED! From a liquor license placard:

“Applicant requests an expansion to increase the Total Occupancy Load of the establishment from 32 to 155. The first floor of the establishment will have 30 seats, and the second floor will have 57 seats. Summer Garden seating will increase from 20 to 45.”
