For those feeling blue about Native Foods Cafe closing. Thanks to Skip for sending from the 2900 block of M Street, NW. Postmodern Foods website says:

Red Toque’s Shaw location opened at 1701 6th St, NW at R Street back in 2011. I was psyched to see they now have a Georgetown location too – check out their menu here.

A new French Bakery, Boulangerie Christophe, is coming next door to the former Commander Salamander space now an M & T Bank on Wisconsin. Fingers crossed.

1332 Wisconsin Ave, NW

We first heard about Beard Papa’s Cream Puffs back in February. Their website had a “late summer” (and Spring before that) opening which obviously passed but at least they’re now hiring! Stand by for “unique French choux dough puffs” soon.

1206 Wisconsin Ave, NW

Back in July we learned “Greg Engert, Beer Director for Neighborhood Restaurant Group, announces the opening of The Sovereign, a bar and bistro located at 1206 Wisconsin Ave NW (at the end of the alley at M St. NW & Wisconsin Ave. NW).”

They’re now hiring:

“The Sovereign – the latest project from the Neighborhood Restaurant Group – is a forthcoming Belgian bar and bistro committed to celebrating the rustic cuisine and fabled brewing culture of Belgium.

We are now hiring for all positions: Servers, Bartenders, Support (Food Runners and Bussers), Hosts, Cooks.

The two-story bar and bistro will open in late 2015.”
