This is another beautiful garden also located on the front yard. I’m super jealous of this one.

I have often walked by this deli on my route down 11th Street. It always looked awesome but the only problem was that it was always closed. To my surprise and delight, yesterday it was open for business. And apparently it is under new management. So check it out on 11th Street just north of Wonderland.

This is an updated photo from that condo development in CH whose most notable feature was the awful front door. That front door looks like the entrance to a county jail. And I know from experience but that is a completely different story… Anyway, as you can see the condo is now up for auction. Not a very good sign. Well, maybe you can get a steal if you don’t mind the door.

Well, the sign has gone up and it looks awesome. Now it is important that when you say Pizzeria you pronounce it “Pitz-ah-ree-ah”, it has a real nice ring to it when you say it that way. I’ve sent out some feelers to my sources to find out when it will finally open but then I realized that I don’t have sources. Sorry, I’ve been drinking. Anyway, it looks great and I can’t wait to dig into that first piece of pitzah.

I noticed this sign in the window of Wonderland. I wonder if this is just to renew its beer garden or if they are looking to expand outdoor seating. Anyone know what’s up?

It is official, Columbia Heights coffee has the best tasting coffee within walking distance of Petworth. Not a bad place to sit outside and drink it either.

I like what one commenter posted below suggesting that choice is good. I really think that is a brilliant if succinct comment. And speaking of choice, Mayorga Lounge in Columbia Heights near the Giant grocery is super cool. It has two levels and everything that you can ask for. I still love Columbia Heights Coffee on 11th Street but it is nice to have choice especially when it is crowded there. But they are both great places to get a cup of joe and hang out. And hopefully we will get lots of choices like this in Petworth too. Ok maybe not lots of choices but at least a few choices. Has anyone else tried Mayorga yet? Thumbs up or down?

Here is a picture of some beautiful newish condos in Columbia Heights. It looks great except for one detail. Check out the door. It looks like a door from a county jail and I know because I’ve been in a county jail…

Wonderland Ballroom’s outdoor lounge area is among the coolest in the city by far. Makes you want to down a pint doesn’t it?

You can see the pizza joint at 11th and Park is coming along very nicely. The patio looks terrific and I understand there will be patio seating when Red Rocks opens. As I walked by I had no problem imagining myself sitting there eating a slice a pizza before heading down the street to Wonderland Ballroom. I am wiping a tear from my eye, I am so happy at the prospect.
