The Craigslist ad says:

“Across from historic Meridian Park
Spacious living area
Beautiful Hardwood floors
Updated Kitchens
Renovated hallways, new elevator
Bike Room available
Garden/utopia under construction
Short Walk to Columbia Heights Metro & Shopping (app. 8 minutes)”

I’ve always been curious about these places. I think it would be super to cool live across the street from the park. Do you think this 1 bedroom is reasonably priced at $1350?

I guess, it’ll be really nice when utopia is created…

I thought only one or two more were coming but it looks like 9 or 10, on both sides of the plaza and by the Irving St. metro entrance. Also does anyone know why the fountain in the plaza no longer has good water pressure?

Thursday afternoon a reader sent in word of Frozen Yogurt opening up in Columbia Heights Plaza. It does not disappoint. I checked it out Thurs. evening and it’s the first I ever tried self serve before. It was pretty simple. You see from the photo below, you pull the selection from the wall on the right and choose toppings at the back and then pay (by weight) up front. Nice and easy. For folks that went when it was crowded – how fast did the line flow?

Earlier today someone also wanted to know the hours:

“Dear PoP,

If only every new place in the neighborhood had the same buildout
crew. Just walked by the ex-Ritas which, as of today, is already open
as a fully operational Fro Zen Yo.”

I’ve been really excited about getting Fro-yo in the Columbia Heights Plaza at 14th and Park, NW. It’s awesome that the turnaround was this quick. All I gotta say is enjoy!

The Craigslist ad says:

“Located at 3513 11th st between Monroe St and Otis Pl, this one bedroom one bath apartment has central heat and ac, laundry in the building and includes parking at this price. It is in a three story walk-up and is available immediately.”

Well the photos are less than impressive but the price including parking seems pretty damn good. Does $1000 per month seem reasonable for this 1 bedroom?

“Dear PoP,

Do you know what is up with this house on Hiatt Place, NW? I don’t think it’s occupied and hasn’t been for a while. I love huge windows but this is like living in a fishbowl.”

I’ve been keeping my eyes on this place but sadly don’t have the scoop. Any readers that live nearby know the story?
