LeTena, fast casual Ethiopian, opens October 19th in former Señor Chicken space

“LeTena, a new fast casual Ethiopian concept is due to open at the corner of 14th Street and Park Road (3100 14th Street) on October 19th.

LeTena will serve a variety of healthy, locally sourced and freshly made dishes including various vegetarian dishes, tibs, stews, salads and other Ethiopian and international specialties. The restaurant will have 20 seats in the coffee area where baristas will serve a variety of specialty coffees and teas as well as pastries. The coffee house will feature coffees made from freshly roasted Ethiopian coffee beans. The 30-seat dining room is a comfortable spot to enjoy classic Ethiopian dishes served with injera in traditional fashion, or wrapped, with bread or rice for those who wish to use utensils. Beer and wine will be available as well as soft drinks. A children’s menu and a small selection of non-Ethiopian dishes that are favorites will also be available. “Dear PoPville,

I filled out the DC voter registration form, signed and scanned it, and emailed it to the contact that it said in the email, but never got any response… Does anyone know if you just assume your registered, or should I get a confirmed response at some point?”

“The Carlos Rosario School is hosting a Voter Registration and Education Fair from 5:00-7:30pm. We’ll have local artists and musicians, free food from Los Hermanos, activities for the whole family, voter resources and even a practice voting booth. Community partners like Mary’s Center, GALA Theater, OLA and DC Board of Elections will be here, too. “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division, Physical and Sexual Abuse Branch announced an arrest has been made in reference to a Second Degree Child Sexual Abuse offense that occurred in the 3100 block of 14th Street, Northwest, on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at approximately 4:03 pm.

The suspect followed the victim inside a store for approximately 10 minutes and offered her a piece of gum prior to grabbing hold of her. The suspect then grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her.

On Sunday, September 25, 2016, 46-year-old Adrian Rendon, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Child Sexual Abuse.

Detectives are seeking additional victims that may have come in to contact with the suspect.

Anyone who has information regarding this case or additional cases should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”
