In late July we learned that Bistro Le Zinc had closed at 3714 Macomb Street, NW just off Wisconsin Ave. Washington Business Journal reports on the new owners:

“The owners of Bistrot Lepic in Glover Park have purchased the business and plan to open La Piquette in the space later this fall.”

Any fans of Bistrot Lepic located at 1736 Wisconsin Ave, NW? You can see their menus here.

Last week we looked at the Takoma Park Playground. This week we have the Macomb Playground from DPR:

“The concept for Macomb links the two separated play spaces, relocates the shaded gazebo to create a more pronounced entry to the space, and includes a new water feature. New stairs and an incline with ropes for climbing connect the upper and lower play area, and new equipment is included throughout the site. A new bright, rubberized surface has a fun herringbone pattern.”

Uptown Tap House opened up in the former 4Ps space in Cleveland Park back in Sept. 2012. They’re already getting a refresh. I called the Tap House and was told they will be closed until September 3rd while new management takes over and a new menu is designed.

A member of the Cleveland Park Listserv also says:

“I have heard from one of the contractors that it is going to more “upscale” than it is now. Much more: better food, better atmosphere, etc. He stated hopefully it will be done by September 2.”

Thanks to @VirginiaHouston for the tweet. Bistro Le Zinc, formerly the Sushi Sushi space, opened up back in 2011. A call to Le Zinc goes to voicemail that says they closed July 18th and it was their pleasure serving you these past two years. Stay tuned to see who takes the space.

From the Cleveland Park listserve:

“We lost our terapin turtle Scratchy sometime last Thursday, June 20 from our home on 3400 block of Lowell before going away for weekend. She is about 10″ diameter with a green paint smudge on her shell. She does not bite, but will scratch when picked up.”

I don’t mean to be disrespectful but how do you lose a turtle?

If you’ve seen a 10 inch turtle with a green paint of smudge you can let the owner know here on the Cleveland Park listserve.
